Emily Mcdowell - Creative Director of Em & Friends
James Martin is a rare breed – not only is he an incredibly talented designer, he’s also equally skilled at explaining the how and the why behind his decisions, and teaching beginning designers how to think strategically as a foundational aspect of their work. James’ work is a valuable resource for any designer looking to develop their skills, hone their craft, and communicate more effectively with clients
Michael Janda - Best-Selling Author of Burn Your Portfolio
James Martin is one of the world’s top logo designers. I have been working in the creative industry for more than two decades. I have managed and employed hundreds of designers doing work for the biggest brands in the world. James has an elite level eye for detail and a creative spark that makes his work shine even compared to top talent worldwide. He has a rare gift and is, without a doubt, one of the most talented creatives I have seen in all my career

David Karlins - Author and Illustrator Trainer
In Adobe Illustrator CC For Dummies, I draw on my 'long strange trip' (to borrow from the Grateful Dead) with Illustrator. I've drawn bus maps in Los Angeles (yes, they have buses in LA), designed infographics, and created architectural renderings for commercial real estate developers. I'm not an artist, but I've collaborated with fine artists to port their work to giclée prints or digitize their work for sale on Etsy. I've conducted seminars for commercial printers and I design logos and icons for app and web navigation. And I constantly encounter or discover new ways Illustrator opens pathways to creative problem solving in the worlds of illustration and design. Along the way, I've written or co-authored more than a dozen books on Illustrator and other apps in Adobe Creative Suite, and created course materials on Illustrator for Adobe. Still, I'm fully aware that my own experience only scratches the surface of everything Illustrator can do. I've learned from colleagues, competitors, and experts in different realms of Illustrator. Most of all, I've learned from decades of teaching Illustrator at community colleges, university extension schools, online courses syndicated around the world, and boutique design consulting agencies. More than anything, I've drawn on my teaching experience in putting together this book
Han Chen - Graphic Designer and Writer
David Karlins analyzes, writes about, teaches and implements new developments in digital communication culture, design, and technology. His latest book is Adobe Illustrator CC For Dummies. I've used the book, and I had a chance to sit down for an afternoon with Professor Karlins to ask him about how Illustrator fits into the world of digital design, and how he approaches teaching Illustrator. I'm sharing the interview in three episodes...Read Episode I: Maybe You Shouldn't Learn Illustrator From An Artist (medium.com/@hanchen43820/episode-i-maybe-you-shouldnt-learn-illustrator-from-an-artist-969254800693)
