Nina GarciaBaby Sign Language Made Easy is a beautiful, easy-to-understand resource about how to learn and teach baby sign language to young children. Drawing on the benefits of baby sign language for both parent and child, Ms. Rebelo not only provides a thorough collection of useful signs, but shows you exactly how to introduce them to your child. This is a must-read for any parent eager to use baby sign language
Angela ThayerBaby Sign Language Made Easy is a must-have book for parents! Lane does a wonderful job describing how to begin teaching sign language to babies. She breaks it down into simple steps so it’s easy to know where to start. I love that she shares the top signs for different categories and that there are images of children signing. Everything you want to know about baby sign language is in this book!
Jamie GlowackiAmen and hallelujah for this book! As a potty training expert, I'm often met with parents who don't want to start potty training because their child isn't verbal yet. I'm always a little astounded because our children are always communicating with us, even if it doesn't look or sound like words. For me, as a parent and a parenting professional, sign language is that bridge. Our little ones understand and have so much to say before their words come. Lane's book is incredible. I wish I had this book when my son was little! So many power struggles can be avoided with sign language; when you eliminate the frustration over speaking the right words, you'd be surprised how much easier life with an early toddler can be. This book is beautiful and Lane's knowledge and compassion are superior

Nancy SnydermanFew of us grow up expecting to be raising toddlers when we’re on the eve of our own retirement. But for millions of American children, their parents are no longer part of traditional family structure. Is this reliance on grandparents to step in for round two of parenting the new normal? For too many families it is. The Grandfamily Guidebook is an indispensable part of modern child rearing and lends a parent/ grandparent a right hand when we all need it the most
Robin MillerThe Grandfamily Guidebook is a must-read for grandparents raising their grandchildren, as well as for the providers taking care of the entire family. With easy-to-understand medical, psychological, and legal information and resources, this book provides the essentials for healthy “grandfamilies” that include healthy children as well as healthy grandparents. Well written and well researched, this book is sure to become a classic “must-have” on providers’ as well as grandparents’ and parent’s book shelves
Pamela HighGrandfamilies are usually formed at a time of crisis. Over the past decade, several million grandparents have taken on the parenting role for one or more of their grandchildren. Once the initial shock has subsided, The Grandfamily Guidebook can support grandparents as they cope with, adjust to, and thrive in their new role. In plain language, Adesman and Adamec describe ways of identifying and dealing with grandparents’ feelings and ways of managing the middle generation of birth parents. They use meaningful vignettes to illustrate how to understand children’s reactions and emotional needs, how to effectively guide and encourage children at home and in school, and how to set reasonable limits on their behaviors. This very practical and readable guide offers up-to-date psychological, medical, and even a little legal advice and resources. It is positive in its approach and provides both understanding and encouragement to grandparents raising grandchildren
