Thanks for the pointer, joetimmons79!
Also, looks like John Barry, the speaker in the video, is an author, & has an interesting looking book about the 1918 flu (if flu pandemic books while social distancing is your cup of tea: I've added to my queue):
Indra Nooyi - Believer in the power of corporations to do well by doing good. Former Chairman & CEO PepsiCo. IIM Calcutta YaleSOM alumna. Proud mother of two. Go Yankees!
The Great Influenza by johnmbarry is an incredible walk through the history of the 1918 Spanish flu. This quote struck a chord with me as I worked on the taskforce to reopen Connecticut, and I hope the book provides you a lens through which to see the COVID-19 crisis as well
Vali Nasr - Professor Johns Hopkins-SAIS, Fr Sr Advisor, State Dept, books: Dispensable Nation, Shia Revival. RT not endorsement
John Barry, author of the seminal book The Great Influenza writes: when you mix science and politics, you get politics. the surge in #COVID cases in US has proved politics hasn’t worked. Time to set politics aside and rely on science
Kyle Bass - Chief Investment Officer Hayman Capital Management ‍ Happy to Block ccp Twitter bots, Fan of Democracy and Rule of Law
Remember the Great Influenza of 1918 (amazing book by Barry)...40-50 million died at a 10% kill rate. The higher the rate, the faster it is likely to burn itself out. 10% is a global pandemic nightmare
Norman Ornstein - Norman Ornstein is a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and a contributing editor for the Atlantic.
John Barry’s book The Great Influenza is a superb must read. More now than ever!
