Book Cover of Tim Peake - Limitless: The Autobiography

By Tim Peake – European Space Agency astronaut and test pilot (you?)

4.83
| 2020 | 496 Pages
Recommended for:
Young adults and aspiring astronauts. Ages 12 to Adults.
You will:
  • Learn about the challenges and triumphs of becoming an astronaut.
  • Discover the importance of resilience in high-pressure situations.
  • Understand the significance of setting achievable goals.
  • Explore the journey from soldier to astronaut and its impact.
  • Gain insights into the daily life aboard the International Space Station.
  • So you try and set closer goals, and the more tired you become, the closer you set them: making it to the next 5k checkpoint, say, making it to the top of that hill, or that treeline down there, and then let’s see what’s next. Set the goal, achieve it, set another.
  • And when you think about it, there’s no rule that says the dream of your lifetime should be the first dream you have, rather than, say, the second, or the ninth or even the fourteenth … Maybe the dream of your lifetime is a dream you haven’t even had yet. No need to narrow your chances, then. Certainly no need to stop trying things.
  • And it showed me the value of practising things over and over until they become routine, in the knowledge that routine is what you fall back on when the pressure bites.

This is a GREAT book I’m rereading now and totally enjoying
Quentin HardyDwightGarner jenszalai Excellent list.
"This Boy's Life" pairs well with "The Duke of Deception," brother Geoffrey Wolff's boyhood with their con man father.
Also "A Time of Gifts" is a memoir as well as a great travel book, particularly when the way it came about becomes part of the tale
Norman StoneA book so good you resent finishing it
